Spicy Mint Cottage Cheese Scramble

Low fat, high protein creamy cheese sound too good to be true? Try exploring this mint-based cottage cheese recipe for a flavourful and indulgent meal which is easy to prepare!

  • Cottage cheese - 250g, crumbled

  • Ginger - 2 tbsp, minced

  • Garlic - 2 tbsp, minced

  • Olive oil - 3 tbsp

  • Sliced onion - 1/4 cup

  • Sliced tomatoes - 1/4 cup

  • Sliced green peppers - 1/4 cup

  • Fresh mint leaves - 10-15 leaves

  • Fresh basil leaves - 5-6 leaves

  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp

  • Green chillies - 1 tsp, minced

  • Salt and pepper - to taste

  • Multigrain bread - 2 slices


  1. In a large fry pan over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Saute cumin seeds until they turn aromatic.

  2. Once the pan is warm, add in sliced onions, minced garlic and ginger and allow these to caramelize for around 1 minute.

  3. Once the onions turn slightly golden brown, add in the green chillies and tomatoes. Saute the tomatoes until they turn soft.

  4. At this stage, add in the salt & pepper along with the crumbled cottage cheese and mix gently.

  5. Cover the pan and let it simmer on low flame for around 3 minutes.

  6. Add in the fresh mint and basil leaves and mix gently.

  7. Turn off the heat and serve the cottage cheese scramble over multigrain toasts
